Each oral presentation is limited to XX minutes, including time for questions.

Poster Presentations

Poster presentations are a major part of every conference and workshop, to help make th poster sessions a success we ask that you observe the following general guidelines in your poster design.

Please ensure your poster dimensions fit within a 42″x42″ square.
We recommend a 36″ x 42″ poster in either landscape or Portrait orientation. This will ensure that 2 posters can fit on each poster display board face with at least a one inch border around each poster.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should be written concisely and submitted as follows:

  • All abstracts should be written in English and use Arial font.
  • Authors must upload the abstract  as Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docs).
  • Abstracts should be no longer than ONE page in length, including any graphs, tables and figures. Please ensure the paper size is set to 8.5″ x 11″ (US Letter), not A4. 
  • Character size: Title in 14point, bold, and centered. Affiliation in 10 point and italicized. Authors and text body in 12 point. Leave blank line between title and authors, authors and affiliations, and email and abstract body.
  • Abstract title in upper and lower case, standard title format.
  • Presenting author in bold. Group authors by affiliation using numerical superscripts.
  • Type affiliations below author names. Include ONLY the affiliation name, city, state and country in abstract listing. Size 10 point.
  • Email address of presenting author only, underneath the affiliations. Size 10 point.
  • Abstract text body must be single-spaced without any indents or tabs. Insert a space
    between paragraphs. Justified alignment for body text.
  • Abstract must be written in 3 rd person, no “I”, “we”, or “our”.
  • Apply bolding, italics, underlining, superscripts, and subscripts in your main text where necessary.
  • Figures and tables will be printed in color as needed, be sure that all features are clearly legible, and high resolution
  • Abstract file name must not contain spaces (replace with underline character) and must contain your first and last name as in the following example: “John_Pectin_Abstract.docx”

Your abstract will be reviewed by the Organizing Committee and you will be informed about the acceptance of it shortly after submission.

All student presentations, both oral and poster, will be entered into the Student Presentation Competition (Student must be the first author and presenter) unless they choose not to participate.
